On COVID-19 testing in the airports of Yerevan and Gyumri

As of 1 December 2021, foreign nationals can no longer take a COVID-19 test after arriving at Zvarnots and Gyumri airports. Upon arrival in Armenia, passengers who are not citizens of the Republic of Armenia must have a PCR test taken no earlier than 72 hours before arrival or a vaccination certificate provided that at least 14 days have passed since the second vaccine dose. Citizens of Armenia can still take a test upon arrival in Yerevan.

Filling in a form for passengers arriving from abroad

To cross the border, all passengers arriving from abroad must fill in a form for travellers arriving in Russia.

Citizens of the Russian Federation may fill in the form in advance on the Public Services website prior to departure to the Russian Federation but in any case, before check-in.

On the prohibition of carrying forbidden items to Egypt

According to the data from the Embassy of the Russian Federation to the Arab Republic of Egypt, carriage of items prohibited from circulation in the Arab Republic of Egypt (namely, cartridge cases, drill rounds, shotgun cartridges) by citizens of the Russian Federation arriving in Egypt has become more frequent.

The Embassy of the Russian Federation to the Arab Republic of Egypt hereby informs that the legislation of the Arab Republic of Egypt does not distinguish between ball cartridges and drill rounds (spent cartridges), and their presence is equal to weapon possession. Moreover, if the foreigner is deemed by the Egyptian competent authorities to pose a threat to the national security of the country (including when at least one spent cartridge is found with them), such foreigner may be detained for an indefinite time.
