24 June 2021 Red Wings celebrates its 22nd anniversary

On 24 June 1999, based on the Vnukovo Aircraft Repair Plant, Red Wings Airlines was established. Red Wings received its current name in 2007.

In 22 years, Red Wings has grown from a small carrier with a few Soviet-era aircraft in its fleet into one of the top 10 airlines in the country in terms of the number of passengers carried.

Red Wings is one of three Russian airlines operating regional, medium and long-range aircraft in the same fleet. It is also one of the largest customers for advanced Russian SSJ100 and MS-21 aircraft.

Today Red Wings operates flights to more than 80 domestic and international destinations. The Russian itinerary network covers all seven federal districts.

In 2020, the airline has launched a project approved by the President and the government to develop affordable direct flights between Russia's regions using Russian airliners.

Red Wings Airlines specialises in scheduled and charter passenger transportation. The Red Wings fleet consists of 24 passenger aircraft: 15 Airbus 320/321, seven Russian regional SSJ100s and two long-range Boeing 777s. Base airports are Domodedovo, Koltsovo (Yekaterinburg), Balandino (Chelyabinsk), Pulkovo (St. Petersburg) and Zhukovsky.
