Notification on the Rights of Passengers in Case of Flight Delay or Cancellation

Dear Passenger, for your information, in accordance with the Israeli Aviation Services Law (Compensation and Assistance for Flight Cancellation or Change of Conditions), 2012 (“the Law”), passengers, on flights to and from Israel, are entitled to the following rights and services:

FLIGHT DELAYS

In case of a flight delay you are entitled to receive the following services free of charge:

Services of Assistance

Soft drinks and light refreshments when the flight is delayed by at least two hours from the time indicated on your flight ticket.

Hot meal(s) when the delay reaches five hours or more, and additional meals if the delay continues, in reasonable proportion to the waiting time

Hotel accommodation if the flight is postponed to the following day, including transportation to and from the hotel at no cost.

Two telephone calls, faxes, or e-mails provided free of charge.

Right to Choose Between Refund or Alternative Flight:

If the flight is delayed by eight hours or more, passengers are entitled to choose between:
Refund of the ticket price, or alternative flight as defined in the Law, subject to seat availability.

FLIGHT CANCELLATIONS

If your flight did not operate or departed with a delay of more than 8 hours, you are entitled to: all services listed in the delay sections above; Hotel accommodation services; Transportation services to and from the hotel.

MONETARY COMPENSATION

You are entitled to submit a written request for monetary compensation as specified in the First Schedule to the Law, subject to the conditions and exceptions detailed in the Law.

SCHEDULE CHANGES - EARLY DEPARTURES

Advancement of 5-8 Hours: If your flight departure time was moved earlier by more than five hours but not more than eight hours, and you received notification less than 14 days before the original flight date, you may choose between: Flight voucher for the amount of the relevant flight segment for future ticket purchase; Alternative flight as defined in the Law; Flight cancellation and submitting a written request for refund of the relevant flight segment amount.

Advancement of More Than 8 Hours: If your flight departure time was moved earlier by more than eight hours, and you received notification less than 14 days before the original flight date, you are entitled to the above benefits plus the right to request monetary compensation as specified in the First Schedule to the Law, subject to the exceptions regarding extraordinary circumstances and protected strikes as mentioned above.

NOTE

You are entitled to the benefits outlined in this notice when any of the situations described below occur, provided that: your flight is scheduled to depart from or arrive in Israel; you hold a valid flight ticket; you checked in on time for your flight.

Please note that you will NOT be entitled to the benefits described in this notice if: you received notification about being transferred to a different flight and arrived at your final destination at the time originally indicated on your flight ticket; you received your flight ticket free of charge or purchased it at a special rate not available to the general public directly or indirectly.
